Author Talk: Halifax Central Library 7pm

To celebrate the publication of The Companion in paperback this month, I will be at the gorgeous new Halifax Central Library on the evening of Thursday 30th November.

I will be talking about the inspirations behind the novel, my writing process and my experience so far as a debut novelist. Also happy to talk about my day job as a TV quiz question setter if folk are interested.

Copies of The Companion will be available to buy – and signed!

The Northern Writers’ Awards Roadshow is coming to Yorkshire.

Join me and poet Rachel Allen at Hebden Bridge Library to celebrate the launch of this year’s awards. We’ll be discussing opportunities for novelists, poets and short-story writers. Full details here:

I will be appearing on Bob Fischer’s afternoon show on BBC Radio Tees.

I will be talking about The Companion and also about my work as a quiz question setter and verifier. I might even test Bob on his chosen Specialist Subject…

A panel discussion about book publicity and self-promotion

I am excited to be taking part in this festival this year. On Friday evening I will be a member of the panel for the event discussing the dos and don’ts of book publicity and self promotion. My fellow panellist is the author Helen Taylor and the event is chaired by Laurie Garrison, founder of the Women’s Writers School.

Location: Cobbles and Clay Café, Main Street, Haworth

Time: 7pm

Admission is free and refreshments will be available to purchase.
